We can only see so much. A walkthrough makes sure you’re safe. Our scanner reads your public, crawlable surface, but the highest-dollar exposure lives behind a login, inside flows no crawler can reach: how someone signs up, subscribes, and then tries to cancel. A person runs those flows by hand and writes up exactly what happens.
What an automated scan can’t see
A crawler stops at the login wall. Everything that costs the most when it goes wrong sits on the other side of it. The cancel flow is the clearest example: the policy page can promise an easy exit while the real path hides the cancel button three screens deep, routes you to a phone line, throws up a retention wall, or leans on confirm-shaming (“No thanks, I like overpaying”) to talk you out of it. U.S. v. Adobe put a $150M price on exactly this kind of gap between what a subscription flow says and what it does (DOJ consent judgment, March 2026). Drip-pricing at checkout, a data-deletion request that quietly goes nowhere, and a consent banner that ignores “reject” all live in the same blind spot. None of it is visible from the outside.
What the walkthrough covers

Which flows do you actually walk?
The interactive paths a crawler can't reach: account signup, subscribing to a paid plan, and the full cancellation flow (auto-renewal and click-to-cancel), plus checkout and any drip-pricing or fees that appear late, and the data-deletion or CCPA "delete my data" request. We also drive your cookie and consent banner to see how it behaves when someone clicks reject, not just what the policy claims. If your site has a flow that isn't on this list, tell us and we'll fold it in.
How long does a walkthrough take?
It is scheduled, founder-delivered work, not an instant report. Most sites take a few business days from booking to written findings: we set a time, walk your flows end to end while capturing what we see, then write it up. Complex multi-product checkouts or several subscription tiers take longer, and we'll tell you the realistic window before you book rather than after.
Do I need to run the automated scan first?
No, but it helps. The free scan covers your public, crawlable surface and gives us a map of the site before we start. The walkthrough is built for everything the scan can't see, so the two are complementary rather than a sequence. If you've already run a scan, share it and we'll start the walkthrough where the automation stopped.
